We passed by this place a few times before giving it a go. Can't believe we almost missed it, it ended up being a memorable part of our holiday.
We stopped for snacks, a full meal, and once just for desert. It's a small place with a small versatile menu done well.
The highlight for me was the paella, which you have to order an hour in advance. We asked for just fish and vegetables and this was no problem. It really was packed with flavour and easily the best of our holiday.
The deserts were a delight, especially the chocolate mouse, apple tart, and nut ice cream.
Good food can be found anywhere but what made this a special holiday memory was the service. Run by a husband and wife team they treated us like family from the very first visit. Maria was waitress, travel guide, Spanish teacher and children's entertainer all rolled into one. Guti (as close as I can remember your name - sorry) was equally charming and didn't allow our mutual language barrier to get in the way of a good laugh.
So if you are looking for a genuine small Spanish restaurant experience (they don't do Canarian potatoes) then take the short route off the TF1 to this place.
I don't know if the food tasted so good because we were made so welcome and had such fun but, really, who cares, it was an experience we will always remember.
Leckeres Essen , sehr freundlich ! Was will man mehr ?
