In a Barri (neighborhood) of patas (potatoes), croquette & olive tapas, here's a restaurant with panache. Menu. Chef. Service & Wait(ress) who know their menu. Modestly priced dishes. The lasagna is a revelation... unlike ANY lasagna you have had. I had a quarter grilled rabbit (€ 6,15) that was perfectly cooked. A gazpacho that, well was the best salad I ever drank.
Well done & well worth the money in this maze of unspectacular hole in the wall Catalan & Castellano tapa bars. We've been to Gràcia twice in two years and I can honestly say that I regret not finding la Llar de Foc. The Good news is we have 5 more days to eat there and that you should go to enjoy this eatery.
this was one of our best finds in Barcelona...we I found it using the downloaded Lonely PLanet Barcelona app. It's awesome because it finds where I am with GPS, and tells me what restaurants are good with descriptions. Sometimes, they're misses because once it's on Lonely Planet, it gets overrun. But this place wasn't. We went there I think on our way to Parque Guell (another Gaudi work of art) and it was cheap (for Americans given the exchange) and delish. The pitcher of sangria came in a customized clay pitcher bearing the establishment's name. AND they had a yummy flan for dessert mmmmmm. It was also situated on a narrow street off the main road (alley-like) in a local neighborhood, meaning we were the only asians and only ones with cameras. Easy to miss the entrance to this place. The waiter didn't even speak English but a smile, some pointing, and my high school Spanish came in handy!
Restaurante de cocina Catalana a la brasa justo en el medio de Gràcia. Una auténtica joia, que destaca comparado a la calidad a menudo desilusionante de los locales de Gràcia. Cenamos aquí un sábado de octubre 2023. Pedimos un poco de todo: queso, escalibada, bacalao, torradas, y parrilladas para compartir. Todo fue buenísimo, y la carne fue absolutamente espectacular. Hay también una buena selección de vinos. El precio también fue muy onesto: 25 €/persona, comiendo en cantidad carne a la brasa buenísima con vino tinto de calidad - algo casi impensable hoy en día en Gràcia. Volveremos seguramente.
