In the plaza a lot of other places were over crowded. This one had standing room without bumping in to your neighbor. The bartenders speak easily as well if you need a little help. Pintxos are good you can get 4 good sized one and a beer for €11

Pinxto bar, open late. In a courtyard with many other bars and restaurants. Most were closed at 9pm. This is a 2 euro per stick place. There are places at 1 euro in the same courtyard if you're on a budget. Very small, bar men speak English and can explain what's what. This is a "point and ask" place, not a "grab and eat".

Vinimos a Bilbao y nuestra primera parada fue esta taberna. Había muy buen ambiente y el servicio fue muy bueno, los camareros muy atentos y agradables. Pedimos 3 bebidas y 3 pinchos por persona y nos salió a unos 14 euros por cabeza. Recomiendo el pincho de bonito.
