What a charming, fun, authentic little place! Randomly stumbled upon it only looking for a quick & cheap beer. Ended up staying for a 4 course meal. Delicious, authentic tapas & paella, insanely delicious sangria, and 3 of the most fun, charming, funny bartenders in all of Madrid. Taberna el Sur is located off the beaten path enough to mainly be patroned by locals, but still central enough to be easily accessible from all the nearby neighborhoods. All in all, would highly recommend this little gem to anyone who wants an authentic bite, inexpensive & delicious drink, and a no-frills warm un-touristy atmosphere ��
We loved this place and recommended to fellow travelers. Our waiter was Peter, and he was friendly and knlowedge. I highly recommend it for the atmosphere, food and service. Enjoy!
Great little place. I think the great reviews are drawing in the tourists and for good reason. It's a bit out of the path which means the prices are great. The wine the waiter recommended was wonderful as were the 3 tapas dishes we tried. My wife even loves the music they were playing and added it to her play list. Stop in.
